Last weekend my siblings and I threw a surprise party for my mom who turned 70. My sister flew out from Boston with her new baby girl and we invited family and all of my mom's friends. We kept it a secret from her for 2 months while we planned. It involved a lot of sneaking around, but all worth it. We had her wedding picture, high school graduation picture, and graduation picture from nursing school on the entry table with a slide show of her entire life playing throughout the party. We had coffee, punch, water, and food as well as a beautiful cake and different cupcakes for her guests. She received wonderful cards and gifts and was so excited to see all of her family and many of her friends from throughout her life. After the party us kids and our spouses took her to dinner on the waterfront and showered her with gifts. She is so deserving of all the attention and we really wanted to make this day special for her. She has been through so much with my Dad passing away, and battling breast cancer and still is the rock that holds our family together. We love you so, so much Mom! You are truly an inspiration and example of what unconditional love is. You have been the best teacher we could have in this life and the best friend that we could ever ask for.
